Half-term fun at The Story Museum
Looking to keep the family entertained over half term? There’s plenty to see and do at The Story Museum with shows, workshops, clubs and courses to suit story lovers of all ages but hurry tickets are selling fast!
The Museum, including the Galleries and Small Worlds, the shop and café are open daily from Saturday 15-Sunday 23 February. SUITCASE STORIES: THE WOLF AND THE THREE LITTLE PIGS | 15 February, 11:00-12:00
Get carried away in Emma Boor’s luggage of well-loved tales, that are jam-packed with puppets, music, silliness and joining in! This month’s featured story is The Wolf and the Three Little Pigs. Ages 5+
HEROES AND VILLAINS WITH CHRIS RIDDELL & ANA SAMPSON | 15 February, 14:30-15:30
Discover legendary poems from across time and place with the best-selling anthologist, Ana Sampson, featuring live-drawing from the award-winning former Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell. Followed by book signing. For ages 8+
MYSTERIOUS MONSTERS WITH THIAGO MORAES | 18 February, 14:30-15:30
Create spooky mythical monsters and terrible beasts in this fabulous interactive draw-along with Thiago de Moraes, the author and illustrator of Myth Atlas and Let Sleeping Gods Lie. Followed by book signing. For ages 8+
STORY EXPLORERS: MYTHS & LEGENDS | 18-20 February, 10:00-16:00
Three days of workshops for young people themed around ancient myths and legends, led by our Story Guides with guest appearances from professional story-makers including authors, artists, musicians and drama practitioners.
Tuesday 18 February: Ancient Greece – includes fun draw-along with artist Thiago de Moraes
Wednesday 19 February: Norse Mythology – take part in a fun trickster drama workshop
Thursday 20 February: British Legends – recreate the tale of how Arthur pulled the Sword from the Stone and learn what it takes to be a great knight in King Arthur’s Knight School.

MISCHIEF & MAYHEM IN MOOMINVALLEY | 19 February, 11:00-12:00 & 14:30-15:30
This heart-warming show from Lost and Found Theatre tells the story of a year in Moominvalley. Be sure to pack your imagination and join us on an unforgettable journey to Moominvalley where everyone is welcome, nature thrives, and adventures are plentiful. For ages 4+
KING ARTHUR’S KNIGHT SCHOOL | 20 February, 14:30-15:30
Join King Arthur’s Knight School and learn the secrets of what makes a great knight in a fun interactive family workshop, including chivalry, equipment and of course the trusty Squire. For ages 8+
LEGO MASTER BUILDERS CLUB | 21 February, 11:00-13:00 & 14:30-16:30
Calling all young engineers, architects and inventors! Build a story with LEGO! Master Builder is on a journey to Polynesca, the home of Water Dragons, Fairies, Elves and Wizards. The light of Pandora has been stolen by Azari the Firedancer and without the magic key Polynesca will be doomed. Will Master Builder get to the treetop hideaway before Polynesca is plunged into darkness forever? For ages 5+
COMIC CLUB PLUS | 22 February, 13:30-15:00
