Meeting the Fire Service

Year 1 and Year 2 classes had visits from the Fire Service who came along in their big, red fire engine. The children enjoyed learning about all of the different equipment they use and store in the fire engine. They also had lots of fun using the hose to squirt water!

The firemen also talked to the children about fire safety and about the importance of a working smoke alarm being fitted in their home. They discovered that the fire brigade offer a service to fit a smoke alarm in your home if you do not have one and can check your home for potential dangers. This service is called a Safe and Well visit and more information can be found at https://www.fireservice.co.uk/safety/. Smoke alarms do save lives and every home should have one.
