The Story Museum

Year 6 had a fantastic day exploring The Story Museum and visiting some interesting sites in Oxford. Our day began walking around Oxford and being in the actual places that inspired famous authors to write their novels. It was so interesting hearing about the events that lead to their ideas. We learnt about J.R.R.Tolkein, Lewis Carroll, Katherine Rundell and C.S. Lewis, some of us were inspired ourselves to find these stories to read once we got back to school! 'I can't believe that Tolkein was a teacher who doddled on someone's test paper!' said Shinade.

Back at The Story Museum we were able to discover a few of the wonderful story-themed rooms. We enjoyed the animal exhibition and dressing up to sit on a magic chair! However, the definite favourite of the day was the 'Time for Bed' exhibition, which featured a HUGE bed that we could all jump on! We look forward to working with The Story Museum towards our Arts Award this year, some of us have already chosen an art form that we are interested in to find out more about.
