Science Fair Testing

Fair testing experiments

Jodies testIn science, Year 3 children have been conducting investigations to find out the best growing conditions for green plants,  linking to this term's topic of 'How does your garden grow?'.  These series of fair test investigations have been planned by the children with a focus on which variables need to change and which need to stay the same to produce the best results. They have planted cress seeds in pots containing soil, sand or vermiculite and have been looking at how light, oxygen and water also make a difference to growth.

The children have been making predictions and using reasoning skills to support their thoughts. Time will be given for the children to consider their tests and explain what they might do differently next time.
